1. What is 1-million-pixels.com?
It is a website where anyone can claim little pieces of a giant shared image and design them however they like!
2. What is "The Canvas"?
The Canvas is the main 1,000 x 1,000 pixel image on the Homepage (that is 1,000,000 pixels in total). It is made up of thousands of small Blocks, each owned and designed by different people.
3. What are "Blocks"?
A Block is a 10 x 10 pixel square on the Canvas (100 pixels). There are 10,000 Blocks in total, and these are what you can capture, own, and design.
4. How can I capture a Block?
You spend tokens to capture a Block. Before capturing, you need to buy tokens (see 7.), then head to Buy Blocks and select your Blocks.
5. What happens when I capture a Block?
When you capture a Block, its tier increases by 1. It becomes yours and is fully protected for 28 days. After 28 days it becomes vulnerable again, meaning other people can capture it, but it stays yours until someone else does.
6. What are tiers?
Each Block has a tier that increases every time it is captured. The lowest tier is green, then yellow, orange, and finally red. Each tier costs twice as much as the previous one, so higher-tier Blocks are more expensive and harder to take.
7. What are tokens?
Tokens are the currency used to capture and protect Blocks on this website. There are (currently) three tokens: green, yellow, and orange. Each token can capture Blocks of the same tier, and you can also combine lower tokens to match higher ones (for example, 2 green tokens can capture a yellow-tier Block).
8. How much are the tokens?
One green token is 1 USD, one yellow token is 2 USD, and one orange token is 4 USD.
9. Where can I buy tokens?
You can purchase your first token on the Sign Up page and create an account once you have done so. Afterwards, simply go to your Account and press Top Up any time you want more tokens.
10. What can I do with my Blocks?
Once you own Blocks, you can design them with the editor, one by one or all at once. You can use a picture and pixelate it, or draw it pixel by pixel. Each Block has its own page, which you can access by clicking it from the Homepage. There you can add text, advertise, recruit people for your cult, attach a URL, and more.
11. Is there censorship on this website?
Designs, text, and links are only removed when it is strictly necessary to comply with legal requirements (see Terms and Conditions). In other words, as long as it is legal, go crazy!
12. What does extending protection on my Blocks do?
Extending protection is like recapturing your own Block before it becomes vulnerable. It extends the protection by 28 days and increases the Block's tier, making it more expensive for someone else to capture later.
13. Where can I ask more questions?
Feel free to dm or comment on our social media, or email us at info@1-million-pixels.com.
14. Has anyone actually asked these questions?
Probably not.
Have Fun!
